THE CAFETERIA FOR THE SUMMER
During the summer season many of us are not attracted to hot drinks, therefore, all coffee-based preparations can also be made cold.
Let’s start with the cold espresso. It can be prepared with a hot espresso, sweetened as you prefer, immediately cooling it in a shaker with 5 ice cubes and straining it into a glass cup, discarding the ice.
The cold espresso can also be made in advance by preparing twenty espresso and pouring them into a 750 ml wide-mouth bottle immersed in ice. Then, sweetened the espresso to your preference and place the bottle in the refrigerator. This mixture can be stored for a maximum of two days. Shake the bottle before serving.
Another summer gem is fruit-flavored espresso. It is prepared by placing two pieces of your favorite fruit into a small colander which is placed over a cup. Then, pour the espresso over the fruit and it will flavor the coffee.
Another option is a cold cappuccino. It is prepared with a cold espresso and cold milk whipped with a mixer. If desired, it can be topped with a strawberry or peach slice.
Lastly, some of the most popular summer recipes are the frozen coffees. The frozen coffee is prepared by pouring four cubes of ice and a sweetened espresso into a blender. Then, blend the mixture for two minutes. A variation can be made by replacing the ice two scoops of coffee ice cream. Also, a yogurt milkshake can be made by pouring ice, hot sweetened espresso and yogurt into the blender and blending for two minutes. The cappuccino milkshake can be made by pouring by blending a hot cappuccino with five ice cubes for about two minutes. Obviously, all these recipes can also be made with mocha coffee.
