Spiced Coffee

A variety of spices may be added to coffee-based beverages (espresso, filtered coffee, cappuccino, brewed coffee, Moroccan, etc.) at different times during the preparation process.  Both powdered and unground spices may be used.  The powdered spices can be added to the prepared coffee beverage after it is prepared, to individual cups or to the entire batch.

Alternatively, the spices may be added to the coffee grounds prior to the extraction process. Spices can also be mixed to create a very articulated sensory profile. The most used spices include star anise, nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger and saffron.

Spiced coffee beverages may be greatly appreciated by coffee lovers.
