The two most widely cultivated species in the world are Coffea Arabica and Coffea Canephora, or Robusta. For each species, we have different cultivars that have adapted to the climates of their respective regions.

For Coffea Arabica, we have:

Typica, from which various cultivars originated.

Bourbon, transplanted to the island of Bourbon, Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

Maragogype, a variant of Typica from the Maragogype region in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

Pacas, a cultivar discovered in El Salvador.

Geisha, a variant from Ethiopia.

Mundo Novo, a cross between Bourbon and Typica.

Sarchimor, a hybrid between Villa Sarchi from Costa Rica and Timor.

Catuaì, a cross between Caturra and Mundo Novo.

For Coffea Canephora, we have:

Conilon, present in Brazil.

Apoata, a Brazilian cultivar.

Arabusta, a cross between Arabica and Robusta coffees, is found in the Ivory Coast.

The combination of the fruits of these cultivars creates Italian blends that produce excellent espressos.
