SPICES THAT CAN CHANGE CAFFEINE ABSORPTION
Here are some spices that, when combined with coffee, can modulate its absorption and effects.
Cinnamon slows digestion, lowers blood sugar, and reduces caffeine absorption.
Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and reduces the nervous system’s response.
Cardamom slows the effects of caffeine.
Ginger aids digestion and reduces the caffeine spike.
Nutmeg makes caffeine less stimulating.
Other spices, such as star anise and cloves, can also be used.
These spices moderate the impact of caffeine and, if powdered, can be added to ground coffee before extraction or to coffee after extraction, always in very small doses.
